Beacuse parents were complaining (i mean by that sending petitions to tv) that this show isn't appropriate for children and that's why they banned The Simpsons. I don't understand this either but you know, everything is possible in Poland.

Btw. welcome to our forum. You're the first non-polish speaking user . It would be nice if you introduce yourself in this thread (it's entitled "About us").
As for The Simpsons, the show is not oficially banned here (i think), but the networks don't show it anymore, in spite of many petitions sent to them. That reminded me - maybe it's time for another petition .
Got any ideas how we can convince the networks to air the show? I think maybe when The Simpsons movie is oficially in the theaters, polish TV networks will finally wake up . Till then, though, I don't think will see it on the TV screen.
Hmmm....I wonder ....how did you end up here on a polish site....it's rather unusual to see people from other countries on polish sites......whel....if it isn't a jakoe than WELCOME homie .......nice that you've chosen our site ........btw I didn't know that the Simpsons are baned here i thought they just stopped playing them with no reason...........

no we never had the dubbing (and thank heavens for that) but we had sth that happens to be on every none-polish movie - a guy speaking the polish translation over the original one. I know Americans who try to watch “our” movies by really pumping up the volume in order to hear the original background ( believe me it’s hard - especially when the deep polish voice keeps interrupting ) .. The guy is actually funny when you think of it - because people on the screen may be dying, screaming, suffocating, you name it, yet the guy will still tell you in a calm, monotonous voice what is going on. You would have to see it to understand

I know what you are talking about, the Polish guy voice. Yes, its the same in many other shows, movies and such. I always wondered, why do they do that in Poland? Why not do what Germany does and actually dub it instead of being cheap.
Are Southpark, American Dad, and Family guy also banned in Poland?
However I like our way of making the audio to movies ......you learn languages easier when you hear the original voice.......i hate german dubbing....to be honest it's shit to me.........South Park is veary popular here (Canal + is playing it...I think so).....American Dad and Family Guy were on TV for a while.....well FG for sure about AD I'm not sure.......ya know ...thats Poland ...anything's possible ...even banning a cartoon .....oh and sorry for my english it's a bit ill.......
